Check out the Facebook group: HUNGARIAN CLUB OF REGINA
Welcome to the Regina Hungarian Cultural and Social Club web page. The Regina Hungarian community is a small but strong one, with 300 currently registered members of the club. The members of the Regina Hungarian Club work to keep our heritage and culture alive and well through several functions each year, including Mosaic, the Harvest Festival, the Western Canadian Hungarian Folk Dance Festival, rememberances for important events in Hungary's history, and support for the Regina Balaton Hungarian Dancers.
On this web site, you will find information about Hungary, the history of our club, our dancers, renting out our ballroom, and from time to time, recipes and other little 'csemege' (tidbits) from Hungary. Browse around, and enjoy a small visit to Hungary via the web and our club.

The Regina Hungarian Cultural and Social Club, located at 1925 McAra Street, first opened in 1922. It was established for the purpose of keeping Hungrian heritage and culture alive in Regina. The Club moved to its current location in 1963, where it was expanded in 1982. It is home to the Balaton Ballroom and the Regina Balaton Hungarian Dancers.

Hungary (Magyar Ország) is located in the middle of Europe, though many refer to it as eastern Europe. The Magyars (which means "man") settled in the Carpathian Basin, under the leadership of the great Magyar chief, Árpád, in one of the last waves of the Great Migrations. The conquest of Hungary ended in 900 A.D. and King Stephen (1000-1038) completed the conversion of his people to Christianity.
